My name is Chay Tadeo and I’m a full spectrum doula serving families in the East Bay Area.

As a full spectrum doula, I am trained to support people through the entire range of pregnancy outcomes. My offerings include a variety of educational, physical, emotional, and spiritual forms of support. Whether it is a medicated or unmedicated birth, vaginal or cesarean, a miscarriage or an abortion, I would be honored to be part of your journey and I am here to support you wholeheartedly. My intention is for all people to feel safe, heard, and cared for throughout their pregnancy journey.

I am here to advocate for you, walk alongside you, witness, and help you integrate your experience afterwards.

  • BIRTH PLAN GUIDANCE

"Because of Chay, I found out you could actually write out your entire birth plan and take it with you to the hospital. She explained everything to me and I was able to create the birth plan that matched my vision. I am very grateful that during labor and thanks to my birth plan, the majority of it was actually followed by my birth team and for the first time ever, I got to experience giving birth without the trauma. She was a huge pillar of support during labor, making sure that my support system was there for me through the worst of my contractions. Giving birth without the epidural was a huge aspiration for this birthing experience and thanks to Chay’s guidance, I was able to do it unmedicated."

  • BUILDING CONFIDENCE FOR BIRTH

“As a queer, multiracial solo parent, Chay was an amazing support during pregnancy, during my birth and postpartum. When I was pregnant, I was terrified about giving birth because there was so much unknown. They shared information, answered questions and connected me to resources and because of Chay, I got to the point of feeling a lot more confident around my birth. I love that she brought in cultural and spiritual elements of (before/during/after) birth. I felt supported and accepted by Chay, navigating this unpartnered in a hospital setting. They put in a lot of effort to build relationships with my support people and felt like they were a part of my family support system. She offered a really beautiful and powerful closing ceremony during our last session that really helped me with culminating my whole birth experience.”

  • WARM, THOUGHTFUL, INTUITIVE

"Chay was such a warm, thoughtful and intuitive presence in my birth & postpartum experience. My homebirth went fast but after the baby was born, she was so supportive - preparing food and tea, starting laundry, helping clean the space and supporting my eldest child. The next day, she brought over food & herbs for a sitz bath. I didn't know a lot about postpartum ceremonies and wasn't sure what to ask for, but I was really grateful for her suggestions -- belly massage & binding and an herbal bath. She also worked with my midwives to offer a closing ceremony. I feel like this support eased my healing journey.”

  • EMPOWERED AND INFORMED

I’m so grateful I had Chay as my doula during my second pregnancy! During our pre-labor sessions, she really walked me through all the different options I had and recommendations on what to do when labor began, and I felt very prepared (I was induced during my first labor, so I felt like I didn’t really know all the signs and stages of labor). Because of these prep sessions, I felt empowered to push in a different position, something I didn’t do in my first labor and now wish I had. Having Chay in the hospital room with me while I was in labor made a huge difference. I knew that she knew what my goals and preferences were for this birth, and fully trusted her to advocate for me if/when needed. She was so supportive and had a very calming presence, and I appreciated how she helped keep me in positions that progressed labor. I would recommend her to anyone who’s looking for a doula and I honesty wish I had her for my first pregnancy too!
